My cat is an indoor cat, but we let her hang out on the porch for a little bit every day. Tonight she came in with a hugely swollen ear flap (abt the size of a cherry tomato) and it's rock hard.

I looked up the symptoms online and it appears she may have an aural hematoma (blood clot). We're taking her to the vet in the morning. Anybody been through this and can give me a ball park of what it's gonna cost me? The online info says she'll prob need surgery.

You're right, it's a hematoma. I'm glad you're taking her to the vet because it will have to be drained and the bleeding blood vessel may have to be sealed off.

If you didn't have it attended to by a vet, sooner or later she will scratch that swelling open, because it itches, and you will have to make an emergency visit to try to get a major hemorrhage stopped.

It's hard to predict the cost because it depends on how well the hematoma can be eliminated. I would guess somewhere between $150 and $300.
